Job Description:
In partnership with the Biotherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences (BTxPS) digital strategy leadership, the Ontology and Data Standards Lead will lead the BTxPS effort to drive new capabilities for reuse of cross domain data and information to help deliver effective, efficient, and scalable technology solutions for the development of biological therapeutics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify, describe, and analyze gaps in BTxPS data access, relationships, lineage or tools to drive new capabilities and promote reuse of cross domain data and information
- Define, socialize, and enforce FAIR data standards with key stakeholders and BTxPS colleagues
- Collaborate with data SME and information owners to ensure data is managed according to the FAIR Principles and meets current but also future analytics roadmap requirements
- Define and document data quality rules, approval processes, availability rules, and exception reports
- Lead efforts related to instrument raw data file conversion to agnostic readable file formats
- Perform data validation testing and periodic audit for data quality
- Map terminologies across BTxPS and partner touchpoints across and the product development lifecycle including both development and manufacturing
- Perform manual cleansing processes where gaps may exist
Job Requirements:
- Successful implementation of various aspect of the FAIR Principles at a previous work engagement
- Knowledge of biopharma manufacturing and laboratory data standards
- Demonstrated the successful adaptation of data quality standards in a previous work experience
- 2+ years’ experience managing a taxonomy, ontology, or controlled vocabulary.
- Bachelors’ degree, 5+ years’ experience with direct experience implementing successful data standards and terminology solutions in the life science industry.
- Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs
